Sweater Day Workshop
Knit a Sweater Day Workshop
Knit Yonder × Skein Yarn Shop
Sunday, January 10, 2027, Skein Yarn Shop, East Greenwich, Rhode Island
10am - 4pm Daylong workshop
Ever dreamed of knitting a sweater that actually fits? Skip the guesswork and spend a day learning the foundation every great handknit is built on.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to take accurate body measurements, translate them into the numbers that shape your sweater, and choose the right size and amount of ease for the fit you want. Then you’ll knit and measure a gauge swatch, the small step that makes the biggest difference between a sweater you love and one that never quite fits. You’ll learn how to read your results, adjust needle size, and calculate your stitch counts with confidence.
Not sure what pattern to use? No problem! We’ll search Ravelry and find something that suits you.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll cast on your sweater with a plan you understand and can reuse for every project to come.
What you’ll learn:
How to take and record your own measurements
Choosing size and ease for your ideal fit
Knitting, washing, and measuring a gauge swatch
Turning gauge into stitch counts
Casting on your sweater
