Join us for a fiber-filled weekend in picturesque Vermont. We will stay at a historic and comfortable bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting. We will have 2 days immersed in all things fiber at the Herons Llŷn Farm in Orwell, Vermont. Herons Llŷn Farm is a micro farm that focuses on high quality wool production, sustainable land use and textile education. We are hosted by Aja Ewing, owner, to share with us her multitude of fiber talents. Over the weekend, we will take a tour of the farm, forage for plants, prep dye pots for natural dyes, dye yarn, learn drop spindle spinning, visit nearby orchard for fresh cider and snacks and of course have lots of knitting/making time. The group will have a welcome happy hour, knit night social with knitalong, a knitting workshop, and downtime to relax and enjoy the fresh Vermont air.  We’ll have plenty of time to unwind, connect and knit/make.

Classes will include plant foraging and identification, natural dyeing, drop spindle spinning, how to design your own knitwear with your new yarn you dyed. 

Knitters / makers of all levels are welcome. What to bring for class will be sent in advance. The knitting workshop is a design workshop and can be adapted for crochet as well.

Transportation from hotel to farm included (small coach van). Must get to the hotel for the retreat on your own. There’s also plenty to explore in the area if you want to stay longer.

This is a working farm, so terrain will be uneven. Must be able to walk through grounds. We will have an entire Inn to ourselves, with lots of different types of rooms. A few inn rooms are on the first floor, a few on the second floor. Would need to climb stairs.

We will make food allergies and accommodations as best we can. Please reach out to inquire about this.

Alcohol and yarn purchases not included.

$1,950 usd for double room (there are rooms available with 2 beds or queen/king beds if sharing)
